about Brooklyn
My love for design began with a love of art. As a young girl, I spent summers in sun-soaked craft rooms learning watercolor, ceramics, and sewing. With a father in the building world, I grew up surrounded by the language of construction and problem-solving. That background shaped my appreciation for the technical side of design—how a space comes together, not just how it looks.
With a deep appreciation for art, architecture, and craftsmanship, I went on to earn a degree in Art History & Curatorial Studies. The artistic and technical principals inspire my work and design philosophy: a desire to craft interiors that feel intentional, layered, and expressive.
To bridge art and execution, I learned the technical skills of interior design: space planning, drafting, materials, and the foundations of building thoughtful, functional spaces. I refined that knowledge working for a luxury residential design firm, where I developed an eye for precise detail, elevated finishes, and the kind of bespoke, collected interiors that feel truly lived in.
Today, through Studio Ceruse, I bring together art, travel, history, and craftsmanship to create spaces that feel personal and storied—spaces with feeling.
